ABC-Anniversary, Baby, Celebrating

A year ago today my dream-girl accepted my proposal.

Can you believe she said "yes" when all I had was a piece of string for a ring?

After the proposal we ate at In-n-Out. so tonight, we went to In-N-Out to celebrate for dinner and sat in the same place we did a year ago. It was satisfying and fun.

We went to the temple before eating. We did some sealings. What a wonderful experience! the spirit is so strong there. Our sealer was amazing, and even though he did not know we were pregnant, I swear he was talking to us as if he did know. We learned some awesome lessons.

Oh, so we are having a baby! We still don't know what the gender will be, we are excited for either...or both ;) We have been thinking of all sorts of names, but nothing has come to the top yet.
On April Fool's Day we read this poem to the Bingham family:

April Fool's

This is an interesting day
pranks are pulled just by what you say.
No one believe anyone, just let it be,
To really trick someone, truth is key.

What I'm trying to clearly say
is that something special is on its way
though you may not believe us, it's the truth
though to say it today it may be uncouth.

But, oh well, Let's have a go
all are welcome to say what they know.
So lend me your ears and you'll have a chance
to decipher this poem and then watch a dance. (we went to a riverdance after dinner)

We earn titles in this beautiful life,
Like mother, father, husband, wife,
Like friend, bishop, grandparent, or child
some are more tame and some more wild.

When we pass one title we gain another:
Partner, teacher, sister, brother.
We hope you'll be happy and sing Fa La La La
Because, Evan Bingham, you're gonna be a grandpa.

It is cheesy and I wrote it in about 3 minutes, but it was sure fun to see their faces. Evan did not believe us for 5 whole minutes. He thought for sure we were joking. Last year one of their good friends fooled her husband by saying she was pregnant but she was fooling him. If you take that into account, plus the ambiguity of the poem, it would be hard to believe us. Then Aubrey's mom, who happen to find out right away, told him that it was true and that she had known about it for a few weeks, he really didn't believe us because she has never been able to keep anything from him. She did good keeping it secret. He was so happy when he realized it was true. and the family was so happy. We feel very blessed and we hope and pray that everything goes well for the rest of the pregnancy. So far, everything is great. Aubrey is so strong! I can't imagine something growing inside of me! crazy. It is a miracle and we hope that we can be as good of parents as ours were to us. Thanks mom and dad Hatch and Bingham! We sure appreciate everything!

A year ago this pic is a reenactment of where I proposed. This year there is still feet of snow up there. I love you more than ever Aub.

  1. Matthew and Aubrey are going to have a didley-other!
This is a family joke, so don't even try to understand.

I loved the poem. You are a poet and you did not know it.
